What I Drink in the Morning
I am one of those people who totally are quadruple fisting different drinks in the AM.
The first thing I do when I wake up is take my Broc Shot. I’m in my second month of taking this and while I don’t have a life altering change, I am able to wake up earlier (which is a win!) and I do believe I’m less gassy because of it.
I then make my lemon and celtic salt water in a glass tumbler. I typically quarter up a lemon, squeeze half in the tumbler and save the second half for the next day.
Next up, is my protein shake. I alternate between using water and coconut/almond milk. Currently, I’m on Matcha Latte - Whey Protein Isolate from Lunar Lifts Nutrition. I have definitely been like Goldilocks looking for my protein powder of choice and after trying 15+ different types, I have to say Lunar Lifts Nutrition has been my favourite so far. You can say I’m picky and sensitive to certain things, from flavour to texture, but my biggest thing has always been how gritty protein powder can be with a not so nice taste. I love matcha but I love coffee more, so that fact that I can have matcha as my protein shake in the morning makes me a very happy creature. It also gives me 26 grams of protein first thing in the morning which is amazing. I have been trying to up my protein count during the day, so this is great.
Last but not least, but always my first love, is coffee. Depending on how I got out of bed, this will be extra hot or iced. Usually iced - black and half caff. I used to be a 5-6 cup a day girlie, but now I’m down to 1.5 if that (woohoo!). I wouldn’t say I’m a connoisseur of flavour, because my favourite is Folgers Black Silk! If you really want to cringe, I run it twice through our Ninja Pods & Grounds Specialty Single-Serve Coffee Maker. I use half and save the other half for the next day. As for the decaf, well I’m still looking for one I like. If you have any recs, please let me know.
Now you may wonder why I’m so drink heavy in the AM. Well it’s because I don’t really end up having an appetite to chew food if that makes sense, so drinks it is.
